The groundwork is laid for Rippling...

Parker’s basement is unfinished. So is Rippling’s first product. But he and Prasanna have started to build.

2017

Y Combinator taps Rippling

The famous accelerator behind Stripe, Airbnb, and Dropbox inducts Rippling. Parker and Prasanna raise $10M there.

Rippling 1.0 is built

Hello, World! Parker and Prasanna build the first version of our product. It’s not the platform it will be one day, but it’s a start.

A tale of two cities

We open a couple offices. One is in San Francisco, near our founders. The other is in Bengaluru, where products are being built.

2018

We go live with customers

Our first product is launched, getting into the hands of curious customers. Like magic, busy work starts to disappear.

Product-market fit finds us

Closing tons of customers in our first year confirms what we suspected: There’s an appetite for Rippling.

A compound startup is born

As part of Rippling’s strategy Parker commits to releasing great products regularly, instead of coasting on one.

2019

10+ founders are hired

The team seeks out founders who can own products and lead teams. Many of them are Y Combinator alumni.

CFO joins leadership team

Adil Syed joins Rippling from Snap, where he was Head of Strategy and Operations and helped lead Snap’s IPO.

So long, Shotwell Street

Rippling’s San Francisco team outgrows its old office in the Mission District and relocates downtown.

2020

260 employees onboard

Our recruiting team runs hard to hire tons of amazing Ripplers. Fifty percent of them are in product, engineering, and design.

App Shop is launched

With over 200 integrations, Rippling launches the App Store. That’s one giant leap for reducing admin work.

Product gets its captain

After serving as Coinbase CPO, Jeremy Henrickson joins Rippling to lead product strategy across the company.

2021

Unity is launched

Rippling launches Unity, a platform overhaul that gives employees a host of new capabilities and changes how we build products.

Payroll processes $10B

…in 2021 alone. Millions of employees receive Rippling’s signature paystubs. Our infrastructure doesn’t break a sweat.

CTO rounds out engineering

Former founder and Amazon boss Gautam decides Rippling is headed places. He joins to help scale the engineering org.

2022

Engineering has new leadership

Albert joins as a CTO at Rippling after serving as Twilio Segment’s VP Engineering

Rippling gets a new CFO

After serving as CFO of Brex, Adam Swiecicki joins Rippling to expand Global Payroll and Spend Management.

Spend is launched

The first way to manage all of your spend in one place alongside payroll. It includes Rippling Corporate Cards, Expense Management, and Bill Pay.

Rippling goes global

We launch Global Payroll, EOR, and globalized versions of nearly everything in Rippling’s product suite. Hello, World!

2023

Let's hear it for Talent

Launching Headcount Planning, Compensation Bands, Recruiting, and Performance Management, Rippling rounds out its talent products.

Rippling raises $500M

Rippling weathers Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse, raising $500M in a few short days to ensure companies will make payroll no matter what.
