Recipe Overview

In some situations, a compensation change may apply to an employee with retroactive effect—for example, if the employee had inadvertently been paid at a lower rate than they should have been, or an earlier pay raise wasn’t reflected in the past few pay periods.

As a result, the employee will be eligible for retroactive pay (or retro pay) for the duration that they were underpaid, which should ideally be paid out immediately by the Payroll team via an off-cycle pay run.

With this Recipe, you’ll be able to stay on top of your retro payments. When an employee’s compensation is changed retroactively, Rippling will automatically assign a Task to your Payroll team to initiate an off-cycle pay run to the affected employee.
